Ti scrivo questa lettera per dirti che ho avuto la fortuna di conoscere Arrigo Boldrini detto "Bulow", una persona magnifica che mancherà a questo nostro Paese ormai martoriato, un uomo grande nella sua semplicità e piccolo nel non volere mai apparire se non quando bisognava decidere e fare cose per il popolo che tanto ha amato, per il suo Paese che con onore e onestà ha difeso e salvato dal fascismo e dal nazismo.

I’m writing you this letter to tell you that I had the fortune to know Arrigo Boldrini nicknamed "Bulow". He was a magnificent person who will be missed by this country that is by now tormented. He was a great man in his simplicity and he was tiny in that he didn’t want to appear unless there was the need to decide to do something for the people who he loved so much, for his country that with honour and honesty, he saved from fascism and from naziism.

Era bello sentirlo parlare di come si può servire lo Stato con passione ed onestà, qualità che questi mascalzoni che ci governano oggi non hanno nemmeno nelle suole delle scarpe, e ricordo i consigli che mi suggeriva per il mio ruolo di assessore comunale che allora ricoprivo nel comune dove abitavo:

Sei stato un grande politico che ha sempre avuto rispetto per la gente e il Paese che rappresentavi, quel rispetto che questi politici farabutti e delinquenti, che si sono autoeletti e che ti hanno succeduto nel tuo ruolo, hanno solo per i poteri forti dei quali sono servi, hanno rispetto per Don Ciccio che gli procura i voti, hanno rispetto per i loro loschi interessi nel controllare il loro potere, tranne che per noi.

You were a great politician who always had respect for the people and the country that you represented.That respect that these crooks and delinquent politicians, who have elected themselves and who have followed you in your role, only have for the strong powers of which they are servants. They have respect for Don Ciccio who gets votes for them. They have respect for their shady interests in controlling their power, apart from for us.
