Veronesi says he is "saddened by the continual attacks that you aim at me and my activity", but my criticism has not been in reference to his activity as an oncologist and at the Istituto Europeo di Oncologia.

And I am convinced of the good of some of his initiatives, cited in the letter, like those relating to asbestos, benzene and smoking.
5 |
On this point I have really no reason to object, and exactly for the story of Umberto Veronesi and his competence on the causes of tumours, I am amazed at his position in relation to incinerators.
6 |

Li chiama termovalorizzatori.
He calls them "termovalorizzatorii". Veronesi states that "there are many research studies that prove they are not dangerous" and that "my position stems from the time when I was Minister of Health" in the discussions with experts about the problem of refuse, they informed me that the latest generation of "termovalorizzatori" are a necessity for the country and the risks for the country are minute".
8 |

Let him decide the place. I will deal with the equipment and the recording of the event.
12 |
Let him gather the experts "who have informed him" (who are they?), let him bring his "many research studies".
13 |
I will come with my consultants and I will cite my sources.
14 |
The citizens can form their own opinion and can use their own heads to decide whether incinerators are death factories or aerosol producers.
