Da oggi per entrare nel centro di Milano le macchine più inquinanti dovranno pagare un ticket, detto Ecopass.

Letizia Moratti ha fortemente voluto l’introduzione di questa tassa per diminuire l’inquinamento e lo ha fatto anche contro parte della sua stessa maggioranza.

La mia opinione è che a Milano, come nelle altre città più importanti, il centro storico dovrebbe essere chiuso ai veicoli privati e che la circolazione a targhe alterne sia un rimedio semplice ed efficace contro il traffico insieme all’introduzione di mezzi pubblici elettrici, inclusi i taxi, e di piste ciclabili sicure.

My opinion is that in Milan, as in the other most important cities, the historical centre should be closed to private vehicles and that the use of alternating registration plates for being on the road, is a simple and effective remedy against the traffic as well as the introduction of electric public transport vehicles, including taxis as well as safe cycle tracks.

Ma da qualcosa bisogna pur partire, per questo ringrazio il sindaco Moratti per aver introdotto a Milano l’Ecopass, che si è già dimostrato di grande efficacia in altre grandi città nel mondo, come ad esempio Londra.
