Poco fa ho presentato, presso la Camera del Deputati, un'interpellanza urgente rivolta al Ministro della Giustizia Alfano in relazione al tema delle intercettazioni telefoniche.

Just recently, at the Chamber of Deputies, I presented an urgent interpellation of the Minister of Justice Alfano in relation to the topic of telephone intercepts.

"Signor Presidente, signor rappresentante del Governo, noi del gruppo dell'Italia dei Valori abbiamo presentato questa interpellanza urgente, perché siamo tra quelli che pensano che le interpellanze si debbano presentare prima, non dopo che il fatto è accaduto, in quanto, dopo che il fatto è accaduto, si può solo piangere sul latte versato.

”Mr. President, representative of the government, we of the Italia dei Valori group have presented this urgent interpellation, because we are among those who think that the interpellations have to be presented before, not after the facts have come to pass, in as much that, after the facts have happened, it’s only possible to cry over spilt milk.

Dico ciò, perché ho già sentito dire nei corridoi o anche in affermazioni pubbliche da parte di rappresentanti del Governo frasi del tipo:«Non abbiamo ancora approvato niente, di che cosa vi lamentate?»

In realtà, noi non ci lamentiamo; noi interroghiamo e lo facciamo, perché ce lo consente il Regolamento della Camera dei deputati, laddove afferma e spiega che l'interpellanza va rivolta, per iscritto, ogni volta che un gruppo o un parlamentare vuole conoscere gli intendimenti della condotta del Governo.

In fact, we are not complaining; we are asking ourselves and we are doing this because it is allowed by the Regulations of the Chamber of Deputies, where it states and explains that the interpellation should be directed in writing, every time that a group or a parliamentarian wants to know the intentions of the conduct of the government.

Vorrei ricordare a me stesso (non posso certo ricordarlo al rappresentante del Governo che io conosco bene, perché abbiamo un passato insieme negli stessi uffici giudiziari di Milano e quindi sa quanto me - o io so per averlo appreso da lui - cosa sono) che le intercettazioni telefoniche sono testualmente un mezzo di ricerca della prova e sono strumenti che servono all'autorità giudiziaria per individuare - dice la legge - ed assicurare al processo elementi utili sui fatti che si riferiscono all'imputazione, alla punibilità e alla determinazione della pena.
