Chi Le scrive è un Cittadino Italiano che ha la sventura di vivere nei pressi della discarica di Pianura e che ha sentito il bisogno di scendere in piazza per contestare civilmente la sua riapertura.

The one writing is an Italian citizen who is unlucky enough to live in the neighbourhood of the Pianura rubbish tip and who has felt the need to go out in the streets to make a civil protest about its reopening.

Sono in molti ad essersi indignati perché - parte della popolazione pianurese - ha osato ribellarsi alla riapertura della discarica facendo ricorso alla ‘violenza’.

Many people are indignant because a part of the population of Pianura has dared to oppose the reopening of the rubbish tip by using"violence".

Vorrei farLe presente, tuttavia, alcuni aspetti non da meno ‘violenti’ in questa decisione di riaprirla.

However, I would like to tell you about certain aspects of this decision to reopen it that are no less "violent".

Sig. Ministro, nessuno - tra tutti coloro che hanno gestito l’emergenza rifiuti negli ultimi 14 anni nella regione Campania - ha sentito il dovere di chiedere scusa ai Cittadini Campani e ai Pianuresi, in particolare, che per mezzo secolo hanno accolto rifiuti della Regione Campania e del Nord Italia, ivi inclusi quelli clandestini, i cosiddetti rifiuti speciali: quelli per cui si finisce nei reparti oncologici di mezza Italia.

Signor Minister, none of those in the Campania Region who have been handling the refuse emergency over the last 14 years have felt the need to say sorry to the citizens of Campania and especially to those of Pianura who for half a century have accepted refuse from the Region of Campania and from the North of Italy. This also includes clandestine refuse, the so-called special refuse, the kind that makes you land up in the cancer departments of half of Italy.

Il quartiere di Pianura, per quello che in tutti questi anni ha dato, avrebbe meritato di essere trasformato in una piccola Svizzera anziché essere consegnato dalla Politica e dalle Istituzioni alla camorra e al degrado."

The Pianura neighbourhood, for what it has given in all these years should have deserved to be transformed into a small Switzerland rather than be handed over by Politics and by the Institutions to the camorra and to degradation."
