Let your students
decide what they can't live without and have them research who
were the inventors!
In the USA, there
is the National Inventors Hall of Fame, created in 1973, which
is a non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing and
encouraging inventions and creativity.
This organization
also has programs for the future generations of inventors:

Now Kids, and the Collegiate Inventors Competition
I read about an
interesting project for students.
The town of
Unlucky was destroyed by an earthquake and must be rebuilt.
Students have to
design buildings that will bring the town back to life.
By doing this,
they want to be able to change the name of the town from Unlucky
to Lucky!!!
This can be
adapted to a project in English, where the students working
together, design new buildings for the town and then write a
description of the building, giving its purpose.
They can discuss
the kinds of building needed.
A Town Hall A
Public Library A Fire Department A Police Department
Stores
Schools Churches
Each group will have a
specific area to work on. They can also enhance this project by
drawing the buildings on a map of the town.

imagination and a pile of junk"
