What is the difference between the verbs "to
borrow" and "to lend"? Unfortunately the students have
difficulties using them correctly.
The explanation, however, is quite simple.
Borrow is a form of TAKING. Lend is a form of GIVING.
Borrow:
You borrow
something FROM someone.
Examples: I borrowed a book from my sister.
May (Can) I borrow your pen?
Lend:
You lend something TO someone.
Examples: I lent my car to my brother.
Will you please lend me your bicycle?

make
