Numbers are an integral part
of our lives. We all live by numbers.
Numbers and
their meanings are considered by many cultures as expression of
cosmic and human order.
Numbers have
magical, religious and superstitious significance.
Number ONE. One
was for the Greeks, neither even nor odd. One transformed even
numbers into odd numbers and vice versa. It represents
divinity.
Number TWO. It
is considered a lucky number in the Chinese culture, on the
basis that good things come in pairs. It represents plurality.”
Number THREE It
is the number that represents perfect harmony, a masculine
symbol connected to divinity.
Number FOUR It
is the number of stability, of physical equilibrium and of
justice.
Number FIVE It
is the symbol of matrimony. The geometrical representation of 5
is the pentagram, considered a magical figure.
Number SIX It
is the first perfect number. According to a popular
superstition , the 6th day of the week, Friday, is
considered unlucky.
Number SEVEN It
is a sacred and mysterious number referring to the seven
planets. It is considered the number of wisdom and reflection.
Number EIGHT For
the Greeks eight is the symbol of love and friendship,
representing equality among men.
Number NINE This
is the number of mourning.
Number TEN According to the Greeks, ten is the ideal number representing
the universe. To underline the beauty of something, the Greeks
said it rated ten.
