The students can
match an emotion or feeling to each situation, by making up an
appropriate sentence.
Ex: I got an A on my exam. “I’m delighted.”
Her best friend is in the hospital. “She’s sad.”
I’d let them pick a
situation at random from the box.
Maybe they can suggest new situations to use in a future
activity of this kind.
You can also let
the students look up the noun used for each of the verbs that
express emotion:
Ex: To
be happy……………………………..happiness
To hate…………………………………..hatred
To be afraid……………………………...fear
To be honest……………………………..honesty
To be vain………………………………. vanity
To be lazy………………………………. laziness
To be proud……………………………....pride
