Write what you
"feel"...
I
was writing an e-mail to my cousin in the States when suddenly I
stopped. Certainly the letter will arrive in record time but is
this my main purpose? It's a way of turning back the clock and reliving special moments with special people. Of course, receiving a letter, even if it's an e-mail, is welcome anytime. However, if I had the choice I'd prefer, without a doubt, to find a good old-fashioned envelope in my mailbox, with a letter to read and tuck away in my letter box, where it can be read again anytime I want! I've always
loved creative writing and I still continue to write these short
articles whenever I have the time. Let's not
underestimate the creativity in our students. Give them a
chance to try writing brief articles in English. Here are
some: Ex. I am a rather permissive armchair but I hate it when the children sit on me without taking off their dirty sneakers!! Life isn't all that easy for me... They can try this personification with objects, like a desk, a notebook, a pair of shoes, etc. I'm
sure the students will come up with many other ideas that they
can use. Dear teacher, don't be concerned with the errors you'll surely find in their articles. Correct them (of course!) but be sure to give praise for a good content.
