What I’m suggesting
is a “sort” of crossword puzzle that the students themselves can
make up.
An Adjective “Crossword”
Choose an
adjective with 8 or more letters and then add as many
adjectives as you can to form a “crossword”.
Example: s o f t
h i
o n i
c e
F A N T A S T I C
o i e
r m r i
g h t
d i r t y p
e e
u
l t a m e
c l e a n e a s
y v
a
y
t i r e d
e a
r u d e
k
This kind of
crossword can be done with VERBS, NOUNS etc.
The teacher can
also give the class a subject , for example, FOOD,
CLOTHES, PROFESSIONS ETC.
When they have
finished their “crossword”, let them make a list of all the
words they used.
I’m always
surprised how the students work so hard to fill up a page.
Then they are
done, collect these “crosswords” and display them around the
classroom.
A Nice Thought.
“ You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are
doomed if you don’t try!”
