Dopo il blog di supporto a tutti gli insegnanti di inglese che lavorano con ragazzi della scuola media, la nostra Elaine si rivolge ora in questa serie speciale a chi insegna ai bambini. It's good to keep the lessons light. If it looks like a game, the students will enjoy learning even more!
Teacher will prepare "bags" to use in this lesson.
They will be labelled …..VERBS
                                        People
                                        Things
                                        Adjectives

The teacher will "fill" these bags with cards on which are written
               ...simple verbs the class knows already
               ...names of people (doctor, mother, sister, fireman...etc)
               ...names of things (car, book, pencil, desk...etc)
               ...adjectives (colors, big, small, fat, thin...etc)

A student will pick a card from each bag and then try to compose a sentence.
Example: to talk, sister, pencil, red

The sentences, of course, will be silly, but the sillier the better!
Example: My sister talks to a red pencil.

Later the teacher can add a bag with Question words
WHO WHAT WHERE WHEN WHY
"Why does my sister talk to a red pencil?"
To start off I'd divide the class into small groups as they will find it easier working together.

The teacher will then check on these groups and give assistance when necessary.
