From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lexipedia is a searchable
encyclopedia for the
Pocket PC platform that uses
Wikipedia articles exclusively for content. The database
itself is freely available, but the software is commercially
licensed by
Revolutionary Software Front.
The encyclopedia includes over five hundred and fifty
thousand (550,000) Wikipedia articles, and requires between
283MB (concise)
and 950MB (unabridged)
storage on a PDA. The latest update of the database was on the
29th of December, 2006, so it functions as a useful reference
tool for everything that has remained unchanged since then.
A competitor,
TomeRaider (which also uses Wikipedia articles) is
available, yet the most recent update for that is from 2005.
