UniLang

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

(Redirected from Unilang)

UniLang (which may stand for unity and languages) is an online language community website formed in 2000, of people interested in languages, linguistics, and language acquisition. It has a large number of resources for the purpose of language learning, and has a number of active discussion interfaces to form the basis for a growing online community. Among its many features is a new wiki, using Mediawiki software, which is in process of becoming a more central aspect of the site.

Other important features of UniLang are its Unicode-based HTML chat and a forum for discussing particular languages. It licenses its material under a "UniLang Public License", which allows them to be used almost without restrictions for non profit purposes.

UniLang also has a populous forum where language-minded people talk about languages and linguistics and learn and teach languages together. In addition to languages, there are often discussed topics related to different cultures around the world and politics.
