A sentence is a group of words that are put together to mean something. Una frase è un gruppo di parole che vengono messi insieme per dire qualcosa. A complete sentence has at least a subject and a main verb to state (declare) a complete thought. A subject is the noun that is doing the main verb. Un soggetto è il sostantivo che sta facendo il verbo principale. The main verb is the verb that the subject is doing. In inglese e in molte altre lingue, la prima parola di una frase scritta è una lettera maiuscola. At the end of the sentence there is a full stop or full point (American: 'period').
