RGameScript Pro

The correct title of this article is RGameScript. The initial letter is shown capitalized due to technical restrictions.

RGameScript Pro (abbreviated as RGS) is a commercial PHP Script created by Roosevelt Purification. Written in PHP using a MySQL database server.

History

RGameScript Pro (previously RGameScript Opensource) was created by Roosevelt Purification around late 2004. He is the founder and current developer in RCMS Pro. Roosevelt developed this web application at first for his own personal use and later introduced in www.photoshopcity.com. It increased the over all popularity of www.photoshopcity.com quite a lot, and seeing this many webmasters from around the world requested for a copy of this script. Later Roosevelt decided to release this PHP Script as a free or opensource product instead of giving just to some individuals. First version of RGameScript Opensource took the world of gaming CMS by storm and many php scripts of its kind were also challenged by this superb product. Because the first version (0.50) of RGameScript Opensource contained the best features usually seen in a commercial gaming cms.

Versions

Since the initial release of RGameScript Pro in 2004, there have been many improvements of the software. The current stable version of RGameScript Pro is 1.2.
Below is a list of the major revisions and what they improved on from the previous version.

v1.2

RGameScript v1.2 was introduced as a commercial product in the website www.rcms-pro.com. Couple of changes took place in this version and lots of improvements were done.

  • IonCube Encoded
  • Template System (Advanced)
  • File Grabber (Grabs swf/dcr/gif/jpg/gif/png files)
  • 5 Star Rating System
  • .dcr file converter
  • Ability to make a list of all of the games in a page
  • Fixed the security hole in Add Game module
  • Improved encoding with Zend Encoder to increase PHP script execution speed
  • Integration with vBulletin, IPB, PHPbb, MyBB and SMF online forum scripts
  • Some use of AJAX

v1.1

The last opensource release of RGameScript. This or any previous version of RGameScript Opensource is no longer distributed by Roosevelt Purification or any of the websites he owns or moderates. However if you get the script from some other source, you are free to use it. Here are the noticeable features of RGameScript Opensource v1.1

  • Integration with vBulletin, and IPB online forum scripts
  • File Manager
  • Support for .dcr games
  • Ability to display Latest Games, and Popular Games

v1.0

The complete re-written version of RGameScript Opensource (v0.5). Previously it was written in PHP using basic functions. But this version was converted and used the Object Oriented Programming machanism. Some major changes were:

  • Extremely good documentation (API)
  • Usergroup Management
  • Adding Games from external source
  • Moderately skinnable

v0.5

RGameScript Opensource was first introduced to the world by this version. It had lots of stunning features, and they are:
