From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Free On-line Dictionary of Philosophy (FOLDOP) is
published by the
SWIF and edited by
Luciano Floridi and Gian Paolo Terravecchia. FOLDOP is a
searchable dictionary of technical words, concepts, acronyms,
ideas and theories from
philosophy. It contains more than 2000 entries, which aim at
being concise, essential and complete. Many have been collected
with due acknowledgements from other online resources. FOLDOP is
the largest on-line dictionaries of philosophy freely available
on the Internet.
Currently, FOLDOP uses software developed for the
Free On-line Dictionary of Computing (FOLDOC). FOLDOP is a
collaborative enterprise. The editorial policies are similar to
Wikipedia's, and there is an ongoing plan to transform FOLDOP
into WIKIDOP.
