A beauty salon is a business dealing with cosmetic
treatments such as hair styling, makeup application, and spa
procedures. Although some businesses do specialize in only one
type of treatment, there are many that offer a broad spectrum of
services. Employees may work together on one client, such as
receiving a manicure and hair colour at the same time. Employees
stay current with trends and technique through regular training
and upgrading. Beauty salons also act as a merchant of cosmetic
products to help clients maintain a professional look at home,
such as professional grade hair care products, make up, and
appliances such as straight irons and manicure kits.
There are many suppliers to beauty salons including
Dermalogica, Decléor, MD Formulations, Jessica, Crystal Clear.
Each supplier has its own products and various different
treatments.
